This is Ellie the Mesohippus :3
Soooo.... at this past AC i realized ALOT of my friends/artists i admire are hoofers o.0 I was but one doghead surrounded by a herd of various ungulates! XD So i decided i wanted to make my own hoofer character :3
Initially, i just knew i wanted my character to have the horizontal stripey markings like from baby boars on her back/sides... n i've always had a love for primitive horses - especially the ones with extra toes :D so i settled on the mesohippus cuz theyre small, forest-dwelling and sometimes described as being more doglike in appearance than horselike.
The doodle up top is my initial study from when
ecmajor and i visited the Smithsonian natural history museum n got to see some fossils n reconstructions (just a brown aquarelle). The bottom two doodles are from earlier today (ballpoint and aquarelle) X3 I decided to make her a bit more donkey-like in the face because i've always loved fluffy-donkey faces X3
And.. i named her Elli because i suck at making up names and Ellicott City is one of my favorite places in MD :P IDK GUIZ.
Prolly will see more of her soon... she's just too fucking CUTE ;.;

I was just at the Museum of Natural History last Friday Afternoon! Only there for a little bit, meeting up with some friends from out of town before doing some gaming.
Also last weekend during some of said gaming, I named a fictional elasmosaurus "Ellie" for the obvious reasons.

Wait a moment here. You're trying to say you're no longer a doghead but.......a hoofer? Ooh! The insanity! Paws always win over hooves, sorry, but thats the way evolution goes.
Ah well, at least Elli is cute. Though you're husky char is far smexier and has more attitude. This one is just...cute and harmless. I guess it could just be me ;) Damn good drawing though, I'm interested in seeing how you will apply her personality and sexuality, rather she'll have an aggressive attitude on life or something more content to sit and graze.
