As you guys may have recalled, I made lots of stories featuring Hitsume Ashiatsu. However, I never elaborated on its history, other than it was created by cranes, spread to birds, and later became popular with mammals. The story focuses on the begginings of the massage/assassination/fighting style. It focuses on the ancestors of Yu Ame Tai, one of my characters.
This is the first part to a series of stories that will end with the creation of Hitsume Ashiatsu. Since the story focuses on assassination, expect some of the chapters to get darker.

With the Mongolians forming the Yuan Dynasty, Yu Feng and her family work as dancers for Zerleg Mori, a Mongolian warlord. As Yu Feng plans on escaping, she finds an injured ninja hawk. As she and her family tend to his wounds, she learns about ninja, deciding to become a kunoichi to save her family and recover her freedom.

Really interesting start! I admit, I'm having a little trouble keeping track of all five cranes thus far, but Yu Feng certainly stands out. I'm already super invested in this poor girl and her desire for freedom. And vengeance. Definitely looking forward to the vengeance part, however long that takes.
Anyway, very curious to see where this goes. :)
