Been there, in january last year my 2009 build desktop has been put down. Had many good memories with that machine, years of gaming, designing & arting.
Currently I have only a 7 y.o. laptop and I am saving up for a solid gaming desktop... really want to play some new games that I can't run currently ;_;

Couple years ago I was in that situation. The motherboard/cpu in my desktop broke and all I had was a old laptop while trying to scrap money together for replacements. The most it could handle was Elder Scrolls Oblivion, which actually ran really smooth. lol
Yeah, I have no problem with running games from the 2000-2015 time period, but with only 4GB of RAM, everything 2015< chokes hard or refuses to run even with minimal settings. The only plus of this is that I "discover" older games that are still very fun to play, like the almost whole Fallout series~
