Winter of 2022: The snow-filled field beside my
home is... transcendental under the light of a full Moon.
And what would a wolf make of this?
Orrrr... what would a certain wolf and bunny couple
make of this? Hmmm? Hmmm? Read on...

On A Pause in the Night's Action (#40)
Winter, full Luna, snowy field: I sip
Hot coffee, perched on rock and thinking thought.
Wolves of past sat as me here, their tail tip
tucked under haunches. Moonstruck. I am caught.
You'd be too. Gleaming brightness high oer' head.
The hunting easier, the tracks so clear.
Lupines know where the food hides in their bed
of snow, but not safe in their primal fear.
Could I hunt too, a-like my kin? Why not?
Sharp fangs, my claws: All suited well to do
the biting, killing, feeding, bloody hot.
From snowbank out she pops, blonde ears askew.
“Another chase, please?” Euphemism. Doh.
It's not hunting. I howl, and off we go.
home is... transcendental under the light of a full Moon.
And what would a wolf make of this?

Hey nope, not dead. Not that 2021 didn't make a [genuine] good try.
Didn't succeed, I'm back on top of a lotta stuff these days. Including the furlit. A revamped FAWD is also coming back.
And of all things, got a new car, yea! And putt-putt. (You can put a Chevy Sonic in yer pocket. :- ) )
More sonnets ahead, and got a good surprise brewin' about these puppies. Hardly done with this lupine/lapine couple, not by a long shot.

Still kickin' back, are the keywords; 'twas a beastly/chaotic 2021, involving considerable flailin' around against a sea of troubles trying to oppose 'em. Just to ref a certain admired dead English writer chap.
But didn't drown. So to speak. Better days--and mo' snappy furlit writing--ahead? Yah, lookin' so.
(Just to ref Naylor there; also much admired).
At least vehicle troubles are off the table [we hope]. Tres pleased about the [semi-new] Chevy Sonic, which drives a lot better than the now-stone-dead '99 Cavalier buried under snow in the yard.
I'll miss that puppy, actually; served me above and beyond the call of duty, ayuh.
Must do a sonnet about Wolfie and Bunny trying to do their own car repairs. And naturally ending up fur plastered to ears in grease 'n schmutz 'n gunk. Hee hee hee.
(Then a good grooming session turns into something else? Well, they *are* a wolf and bunny, y'know. :- ) )

TY tha welcome back; 's taken some work.
Noticed that you're running the Thursday Prompts now. As they say in French, vunderbar. :- )
Ought to see mo' sonnet work showing up on occasion, time willing. Sorta fun business, the TP; always looked forward to Thursday, knowing there'd be a bit of a challenge waiting.
Type, type, type. Oh lookitthat: Another Wolf and Bunny sonnet. What challenge? :- )

Shows how much I've been paying attention. Doh on me. :- )
My memory of the TP, and the birth of the W & B sonnets, goes back to 2011-13, when the lovely Poetigress ran it. Then Duroc took it for a while.
Then came the Conniptions of 2013--my term for the near-miss-schmozzle w. SexyFur. Sorta dented me a bit, alla that, re. the motivation needed to bash muzzle against keyboard and type furlit.
Hard on the muzzle, that method of writing. And all the blood on the keyboard? Oh, well now, no matter how you choose to scribble that's to be expected.
The W & B sonnets, among other stuff, sorta dropped off the table. During the 2010-ish decade, did put a lot of energy into the FAWD-thing, though, which will be returning pending some fun rewrite/rebuild into Perl and MySQL
(As in, it's FAWD upgrade/relaunch time at some point, yea! Code, hack, curse, swear. And way th' hell past time too.)
No seriously folks, must gear back up, get some older stuff edited/posted, get new stuff bashed into readable shape. There's a tall stockpile 'o scribbles to nom through.
A year of hiatus/recovery has not been an idle one, typing-wise. Progress has been made on several furry novels. Including chap 14 of Backstage Pass which will FINALLY reach a conclusion [soon].
Unfortunately, I now see the requirement for a looong chap 15 and 16. Didn't Proust have this same problem re. finishing a story? Oh well again.
Still: It's all still a helluva lot of fun. 'Nuff said fer now, silly writer-kitten out.**

** And haven't gotten any less silly either. Sweet Cthulhu, I've dropped some funny stuff into Chap 14, wait for it. :- )
