In “The Great Pregali Rescue” during her vacation in Hawaii, Peggy fell in love with a Japanese American Jazz Musician named Mr. Joseph Hiyagawa. They met during his luau retirement party and after a few months of getting to know each other, they got married. Then a week later, Peggy & Joseph decided to move out of Hawaii and relocate to a nice house that was located in the same neighborhood where The Pregali Family was living in. They decided to move because (1) Hawaii was too expensive to live in, and (2) Peggy wanted to be closer to her family and grandchildren. Joseph was fine with the decision because he too wanted to be closer to his new family and because he didn’t want to burn through his life savings. And speaking of Joseph, allow me to talk about him for a bit.

Joseph Hiyagawa was born and raised Ishikawa, Japan where he grew up with a love for music. After he graduated from college (at the age of 23), he moved to Hawaii where he lived out his dream of becoming a Jazz Musician. He went on tour and made decent money for himself performing at concerts and dinner theaters. On the day of his retirement (which was also his 51st birthday), his friends threw him a big luau party and there he met Peggy Pregali.

Joseph is a Generally Great Guy. Not only is he super friendly and gets along with everyone, but he also has a great sense of humor and loves to make everyone laugh whenever he has the chance. He also truly loves Peggy with all his heart and only wants her to be happy. He wants to become closer with Sam & Heather, and loves spending time with his grandkids. Due to his life as a musician, Joseph never had children of his own, which is why he spoils Samev’Annali, TAG, Johnny & Elizabeth whenever he can.

And one more thing, Joseph Does Know About The Pregali Family Secret… He knows that Peggy was married before and what happened to her former husband. He knows that Sam got impregnated with thousand of alien babies when he was 18 and then again when he was 23. He knows that Samantha is an alien and that her real name is Samev’Annali. And he knows that Timothy is a robot. Peggy told him about her life story a month before they got married and then the next day, Samantha & Timothy came over to show him their true forms. They also showed him pictures of Sam during his first and second pregnancy. And even though it did take him a while to get his head around the concept, he did grow to understand.

At the end of the day, Joseph doesn’t mind any of it. All that matters to him is that he truly loves Peggy and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. So much so that the next day after learning the truth about her past, he told Peggy that she was the best thing that ever happened to him and then preposed to her right on the spot. Which made her so happy that is brought her to tears. To this day they are happily married and will continue to be happily married until the day they die.

Peggy is currently 51, and Joseph is 52.

Oh and Fun Fact: Joseph also likes to hug Sam whenever he has the chance, because he has always wanted a son and sees Sam as his son. And even though he knows that he will never replace his true father, he does hope that one day Sam will see him as a father figure at least. Hopefully.
