Yeah, I told you I was going to do some traditional, and here it is!
I'm a little iffy with the color scheme I chose... I think my monster looks a bit more like a poisonous tree frog more than anything. But the experience of using colored pencils for the first time in so long was great-- I had a lot of fun staying up until 4am finishing this up. x3 (Yeah, I tend not to sleep much) I want to do moooore with this. :D Like give him a place to live.
If you guys have any suggestions for a different color scheme, or what kind of background I should put him in, totally let me know! Traditional media rocks. :3

Thank you! Colored pencils are kind of hard... I see a lot of pieces where for some reason it looks more like it was colored with crayons rather than pencils. I think that's just the nature of the medium ^^; But I wanted to make it look as smooth as I could, so I'm glad you think it looks nice!
You know, I was thinking of a swamp scene as well. :3 He might just end up there. Thanks so much for your comment! <3

Colored pencils take alot of time to get used to. I still haven't really grasped how to use them properly yet. XD They just take a mind-numbing amount of time to make it all smooth and stuff, at least that's what has happened to me when I use them. And it drives me nuts, LOL.
In his possible swamp, you should have him feast upon brightly colored leafy plants! OH THE HORROR. XD

Haha, leafy plants. x3 That's an idea. I'll give it some thought.
Yeah, colored pencils are kind of a delicate medium, isn't it? What I do to make them look more smooth is do a lot of layering-- color pretty hard with a light color, then put my darker color more lightly over that. It tends to work, though like you said it takes a long time. ^^; I'm a perfectionist though, so I don't mind taking the time. x3

Yeah, I totally understand what you mean. I kind of fell that way myself. I'm going to try a darker color scheme when I get the chance, with more reds perhaps... We'll see what happens. I really want him to maintain the same weirdness as the pencil version, like you said.
