The idea behind sunflower image is pretty grim. I think it started from the video of Ukranian woman offering sunflower seeds (a popular junk food snack in russia and ukraine) to russian soldiers currently occupying her village telling them to put those in the pockets so when they get killed at least there will be growing sunflowers there.
