I wrote this years ago and since then it has held as the staple of my life. It does lead to some heart breaks, I should know, but I still believe in it.

Life is a cliff
Towering above the sea
Stretching as far as the eye can see
Showing all that can be

Below the sea churns
And your body wants to turn
But you must see
That this has to be

If you walk to the edge
You may jump over the ledge
For your life will only start
When you give away your heart

When your heart is said
And the edge is over your head
Your life may start
With the cherishment of another’s heart
