It's neat. The wind comes from the west in the majority of new hampshire, which is the left side of the photo. The light spots is the edge of the dead trees, and everything to the right has been dead longer and the new growth is coming up. The dark green is mature trees. I'll upload two photos from inside the fir waves so you can see them. It's awesome.
