Shenlong Zhang was a rival of his father, Kotaro, and was corrupted by knowledge of the Dragon Clan. He came to the dojo to settle things once and for all.

Kotaro fought well, but was defeated, and murdered before his son's eyes. He just watched as his father's life came to an end, and Zhang just grinned evilly at the deed he'd done. It was this moment that would set the foundation for Kentaro's years of training.
