Do you remember these four Sonic-related fiascos?
1. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for the unfortunate Wii U and Shattered Crystal for very successful 3DS. Those games had forgettable music and sounds, worst cases of flanderization, awful tons of bugs and glitches and inconsistencies, misleading trailers ruined by executive meddling, poor sense of speed, bare-bones main antagonist, outdated graphics, clichéd and poorly-written story, just to name a few.
2. The infamous 2006 reboot attempt for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was hyped as the best modern Sonic the Hedgehog game ever, but the game succumbed to executive meddling, and it ruined some great things Sega, fans and the series were desperate: memorable level design, incredible story, beautiful visuals, unforgettable musical score, very polished, etc. It's a shame, because the final product's music, graphics and cutscenes are decent.
3. The 2019 movie adaptation trailer. Sonic the Hedgehog looked ugly, unnatural and uncanny as hell, and that was terrible. So terrible he became a meme.
4. The Archie Comics series' demise in 2017.
