This 1998 pic was inspired on FurryMUCK, where anthros and non-anthros intermix awkwardly. Non-athro cubs might not yet understand which plants are ok to mark, and which are not. This maternal but anthro collie decided to implement her own solution for the time being.

This pic was pencilled and inked manually, with the shading completed using a gray prismacolor. This method worked OK. One problem was that the antialiased edges of the scan forced the color flood fill to either wipe out or leave a gray edge at the transitions. Once a hardware (possibly even 128 meg of ram) and software (GIMP) upgrades permitted layers, a better solution was possible.
