Well I got around to sketching up Bellfry again and I thought what the heck he'd be perfect for representing some of my opinions on some topics. So here's Bellfry to tell you a bit about his early years.
"Ah I remember that." Bellfry smiled looking at the picture of himself holding a sign. "It was a long time ago. Way back. It was before mine and Chimour's parents died. I was away at the time. Thought I'd do some interning at a local hospital while I worked for my medical degree. Just a general one. Anyway there was this big thing going on on campus. There was this event going on about creationism and what not."
"What's the thing on the shirt? And the sign?" Chimour asked.
"Oh well on the shirt that's the Darwin Fish. Basically the Jesus fish but with Legs to show transition. The critter on the sign is Tictalick. A transitionary species showing the transition from a water dwelling animal to a land animal." Bellfry explained with a smile. "Anyway me and some of the other students decided to go have some fun and walked around with signs like that. I decided to be outrageous and took off my pants and showed off my diaper. I got a few laughs and some people hounding m that 'Makes sense only a pants pissing baby like you would believe in evolution.' and stuff like that. Course I had my own witty retorts. At the end of the day I doubt anybody's mind was really changed but it sure was fun."
Well hope you guys enjoyed the pic and sorry if there's anyone taking offense. ^^

Actually they have. Theory as used in the scientific lexicon is different from it's common usage. A scientific theory comprises a collection of concepts, including abstractions of observable phenomena expressed as quantifiable properties, together with rules (called scientific laws) that express relationships between observations of such concepts. A scientific theory is constructed to conform to available empirical data about such observations, and is put forth as a principle or body of principles for explaining a class of phenomena.
So essentially the Theory of Evolution is that a theory on IF evolution happens. We know for a fact that it does. Organisms change over time and new species arise from old one. The Theory of Evolution explains the mechanisms by which it occurs.
To say something like that is "Only a Theory." is rather silly. For example Gravity is also a theory in the same way that evolution is. But we don't see anybody using that argument on that.

Once Again. Theory being an explanation of a set of facts. The Theory of Gravity started out with Newton and has changed ti be expanded upon in Einstein's theory of General Relativity.
Where as a Scientific Law doesn't posit a mechanism or explanation of a phenomena. It's just a distillation of the results of repeated observation.
But that said would be fun if you could find a way to make gravity not work whenever you wanted. *turns on his antri gravity belt and floats off* Up up and away!!! *hits ceiling.* Ow!

Well, some people are working on it ^^
But the English article is not really the same as the French one, which is talking of someone who is talking of someone working on it in Finland as he discovered that during one of his experiments, he managed to "cancel" gravity for the smoke he just made during his experiments or something like that.

And we have observed evolution on the Macro scale as well. We have observed the emergence of new species. Even in the animal kingdom. Now are they radically different from the parent species? No and that's not what evolution predicts. And as Da there said. Fossil record. We've got a pretty complete set of transitional fossils for a lot of species. Our own included.
meh I dunnow there are still significant issues I have with evolution in regards to mathmatical probability and thermal dymamic laws, one such thing thing is actually showing itself in a rather annoying way in some squash I was trying to undo the diversification process in, oh well
que sera sera
whatever will be will be
que sera sera
whatever will be will be
Well the laws of Thermal dynamics only apply to closed systems. Our solar system, and indeed lifeforms are not closed systems. As for Probability. Well it's hard to assign probability with a sample size of one. Plus even if it is improbable. Lets say 1 in a trillion then any of the other configurations is equally improbable. But the system such as it is must exist in a state.
Hehe. Yup. Quite ironic that Furrs in his universe are a created species and he supports evolution. Then again a lot of records and such made the transition through the extinction of humans and the ages quite well. Take a look at some of my journals. I've got a timeline for my fur universe in one of the more recent ones.
