Born and raised in Lafayette in a Cajun community when jazz took the nation by storm, Sylvie was a wild card Harbinger, meaning she was born a Harbinger despite the lack of a Harbinger parent. Another Harbinger from France, while visiting the nation, enlightened Sylvie to her powers and also taught her French (due to Louisiana banning French in schools) in exchange for teaching her mentor English. In her early adult years, she joined the US Navy and served in World War II protecting warships from German U-boats and serving key liberation operations in France. There, she advanced to a rear admiral position before being forced to retire from military service due to new treaties preventing her full involvement. Having been subjected to harsh discrimination of living in a predominantly reptilian neighborhood when she settled in New Orleans, she has since been a very outspoken civil rights activist. Currently, she works on an oil derrick as a drilling mechanic, but in her spare time she's a cook at a charity kitchen.
Sylvie’s powers primarily revolve around manipulating water, particularly its flow and pressure. She does have a limited amount of temperature manipulation, so long as it remains a liquid. In addition, at her larger sizes, she can stay underwater for up to twelve hours without needing an additional breath.
Next for a reference is Sylvie, the Cajun alligator - a first for me! She's as big as she is sassy, loves to give big back-snapping hugs, and is the kind of woman who won't let you leave her table without having a third portion of food she served fresh from her kitchen. Her role as a Harbinger of Liberty is in keeping the coastlines free of threats and bringing the occasional busted boat to safety. Though nowhere near as patriotic-looking as her best friend Becky, rest assured she has her own way of showing love for her country.
Once again, I am thrilled with the creative liberties that
BeaTheBehemoth has taken in regards to her uniform design. Since she's primarily an aquatic responder, we decided on orange accents to better reflect that of actual naval rescue uniforms - in addition to some rescue equipment strapped to various parts of her body. :3c
