My Orthontis [raptor people] are roughly 7ft tall, very lanky folk, so I was thinking how this would hurt, especially when hanging around other species in their own homes...

As well as being so tall I imagine the Orthontis having proportionally longer limbs doesn't help as that could make using furniture awkward as well. It wouldn't help with them being somewhat fragile either if you were stretching and ending up banging against a wall or ceiling.
