It was just some lyrics from One Jump Ahead from Aladdin, as a joke.
Farron grew up as an orphan and faced discrimination due to his race aka being a rat. Fera (the furry anthro people on the planet Evyr in UberQuest) favor large predatory animals as more visually appealing, while those on the lower end of the foodchain.. things like vermin.. rats, mice, bats, rabbits.. and most small prey animals are at the bottom. Although all Fera are all the same species, the looks (them being a cat or a rat) are entirely aesthetic. - much like humans Also Fera do not eat each other, so the use of predator/prey/large/small is just for real-world comparisons.
So Fera.. - Large Predators -> Small Predators -> Large Prey -> Small Prey.. at least in certain parts of the world.
