So far I think you have a good skill to draw heads and I'm sure that with practice and time you'll get even better, yet if you look for a more "instantaneous" improvement there's a couple of things you could try out, for example: have you tried using a reference? Picking the right one could assist you in the points you feel you're lacking and lead to a better result~
Well, I mean, even if anthros are not real you can still take things from any kind of reference and adapt the elements you're interested to improve into your style, so things start shapping as you desire.
Maybe right now you're not as experienced as you wish, yet I think you did a good job here and his head is properly connected to say it is an anthro, so that's pretty much it; also you know, trial and error is a part of being an artist too, and you can always take an old artwork and try to improve it as a study, incorporating your new knowledge and improving what you think you can improve.
