I didn't want to leave this on my hard drive after all. I feel it'll be better for me to improve if I post it. =P I plan on redoing this after doing some studies on paper, and looking into how to "style" things better. Critiques on this are totally welcome by the way.
I suppose the one thing I see now is that style doesn't mean "marginal chaos" as I had interpreted it to an extent. If I could go back I'd fix things like the guitar, particularly the neck. The ferret could also look more ferrety too.
Anyhow I hope you guys do enjoy this, hopefully I'll have something better to post soon enough. =P Cheers!

Hmm... Okay... This? I like o.o
I think it's a pretty cute style you picked, and it's always fun to see artists drawing outside of their comfort zone. I did read the journal, but I'm kinda short on time otherwise I'd probably comment about it all in many many paragraphs (so yeah.. you're safe... for now XD).
I like the whole looseness here, but I'd say that.. like.. the torso doesn't seem linked to the hips/legs. It looks like it's a lil' too twisted in relation to them, and that is the only thing that I actually dislike in this picture. I like everything else, the expression is really cute, I think the colours work really well and the lineart fits this style perfectly. It kinda reminds me of

Yeah, this is quite nice, and i think i know what kind of style you were goin for, But i believe whats wrong with the picture is that the style isnt really consistent, The way youve drawn the guitar handle/board/thingy is very straight and bold, compared to how flowy some of your other lines are, also with the guitar body and the campfire, they still need to obey perspective, since the otter the main focus of the pic, follows a certain perspective. So yeah perhaps if you were to try this again but instead of thinking of going half arsed on parts or stylizing them, firstly plan out what features you want to emphasize and make sure that what you emphasize is also done for each element in the scene.
Dunno if any of what i said was right but..who knows D:
