She already was one. But just like how Advent Children somehow convinced everyone that Cloud was this mopey emo bitch who doesn't know how to smile and was 100% oblivious to Tifa's feelings, the Complication also convinced everyone that Aeris was this total nothing character whose personality consisted of "tee hee i'm the sweet pure and innocent girl and that's all there is to me". The "remake" did nothing to "fix" her. I also fail to see how you're under the impression that Aeris and Cloud knew each other for one day before her death.
You're forgetting that A) Cloud's memories of Aerith were Zack's, not his own; and B) Aerith was always the pure, innocent Barrier Maiden standing between The Planet and annihilation... until Sephiroth went all "SURPRISE, MOTHERF*CKER!" and ran her through because this was the 90's and edgelord nonsense like that was all the rage... this was the same decade that also gave us Venom, Spawn and "The Death Of Superman."
A. I'm fully aware of Cloud having Zack's memories, I've played the game many times, and it doesn't change that the events of Disc 1 most certainly didn't take place in a single day.
B. Yes, she was that type of person, but that absolutely was not all there was to her. Everything people praise the remake for "adding" to her and "fixing" was a trait she had in the original, but written worse and/or exaggerated this time.
C. Yeah, no, it was not "edgelord nonsense". You make it sound like he just jumped in with no buildup and utterly slaughtered her for shock value.

*stares in "Batman: The Killing Joke"*
Clearly you're very ignorant of the amount of "Women In Refrigerators" in this era... either that or you just don't care and think Aerith was somehow more interesting AFTER she died.
But I get it... she's the Manic Pixie Dream Girl, and that's somehow more attractive than the mature woman with a steady job and a clear willingness to slap that copy of "The Bell Jar" out of Cloud's hand and tell him to get his shit together. So clearly, you will never tire of being wrong. ^w^

Wow, way to use a frequently misused trope name that doesn't even actually apply to put words in my mouth.
And, uh... No, Aeris is most certainly not a "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" (seriously, time to take a break from skimming TV Tropes), nor did I even ONCE imply that Tifa, my favourite of the two, is less attractive or that I have something against "mature women with steady jobs", but go off I guess.
I love, btw, how your entire reply was just unrelated nonsense to deflect from the fact that you had no rebuttal to anything I said.
