Literally ran into Duhir in town he lived at the Orphanage at at the age of 10. Has a thing for making people uncomfortable with creepy compliments, and Duhir was the first one to not be weirded out. Turned out he had a nack for some more 'worrysome' magicks, and Duhir took a shine to him to start teaching him. Eventually Duhir had to keep moving and leave town, but he came back to adopt Baker and take him under his literal wing.

During their travels he continued to learn more from his new father, and eventually was offered the ability to be a blood member of the family. With Duhir's magicks and blood, he was able to make Baker into a full fledged member, including his eye colours changing to mostly match the rest of the family (Though a bit lighter in colour). Though with that his magic abilities continued to grow, as well as showing he had a natural talent for Curse magicks, which Duhir was more than happy to teach him about.

As he grew older, it became more obvious he was more on the physical side of skills. While he had strong magicks he used them to either immobilize whoever he was fighting, or would link their bodies together and use his flexibility to dislocate his own limbs while could force whoever he was fighting to do the same.

Lead of the Magic Branch of the family. Originally had to leave Zest with the main branch while he went into hiding due to his control over poison magicks, and the fact that his skills could take down the family alone if they fell into the wrong hands (The family has naturally occuring poisons in their bodies, and he could break them down/kill the family, as well as having a few people after him).

A test went horribly wrong that resulted in the loss of his left eye before Zest was born, only to give him a new test of creating a new one out of his own blood. He channels magic into it that allows him to see poison close around him, but otherwise can not see anything else from it. If he runs out of mana, he bleeds from that eye socket, which only adds to his general creepyness that he already is.

Lived with the main branch of the Ricin family when he was 11. He didn't have any real interest in the family's trade (Researching poisons of any/all kinds, as well as plant research), but he LOVED playing the guitar, which was a gift from his dad. At 15 Zest entered a local talent contest in Helm's Myth (The town the main branch lives in), and due to some unforseen incident (People robbed everyone there for their expensive equipment) he finally awoke to his magic abilities as a bard and proceeded to bring the house down... literally.

After recovering, he continued to work on his own musical and magical skills, even starting to help his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin with some of their own experiments due to being the only one in the family who could use magic for the time.

Eventually he started his own musical career and moved out of the main branch's house to have a small music studio of his own, working on mujickal albums (His term for music/magic, mu-jik). Still continues to support the main branch with his skills, even helping create a few musical devices to help stimulate the growth of plants in their projects.
