She hurried out of the maid quarters, straightening her skirt and adjusting her head piece as she fast-walked after the rest. But as she went down the hall, a glimpse of something in the corner of her eye caught her attention. She stopped, backing up a step to get a better look. Her eyes widen immediately as a green and cyan eye stared back at her in a mirror.
It wasn't just a disembodied eye though, it was... her eye. Surrounded by a light blue, mostly smooth face, almost half of it covered by hair... the same hair she had in her vision. The reflection staring back at her was dressed in a dress of light and dark blues, in the same style as hers. But wasn't hers black and whi- The moment she looked down at herself, the illusion faded. Her normal skin was now sleek and shiny, light blue on most of her forearms and darker blue above her elbows. And rather than a pair of black and white heels and a some white leggings... her feet ended in a rounded shoe-like shape. Her gaze shot back up to her face. She had no mouth, just smooth, pale blue shiny skin where it once was. Trying to open her mouth did nothing; there was no jaw there anymore to open. It dawned on her why she hadn't said anything... why any thought to say something was suppressed and stopped. Why none of the others ever stopped to talk about mundanities or share thoughts on their jobs.
They were all Lyminals... Erin herself included. The thought of trying to get away occurred to her. Reveal their current status as silent servants and organize an escape at night. But the thought died the moment it surfaced. She was late, her Master would not like it if his maids were not timely. She turns away from the mirror, hurrying to gather with her fellow maids. Duty came first.
