A close up of the animals in "The Zodiac Race"
I am really pleased at how the golden snub nosed monkey turned out. They creep me out, but I grew a bit fond of them as I painted one. The Elliot's pheasant also turned out well, too bad he's so small in the piece. I felt I could have done better on the himalayan tahr, but I was on a time crunch an I spent so much time on the other two I just had to get him done.
Monkey is holding a peony, by the way.
All three of these animals are under threat in China. I hope that with any print sales I make of this piece I can contribute to conservation efforts to save what can still be saved in the rapidly changing environment in China.

I love the detail on the characters. I'm more impressed with the insane amount of detail that you put into the background. Though perhaps I'm admiring that part more since I have a problem doing backgrounds on my own artwork. Overall the entire scene you've created is rather amazing
Your caring for these animals comes through in how you have shown them, Vantid. There is a feeling of nobility to them.
You are a very talented artist with a caring soul.
PS: In the 2-3 years I have had Painter X (and am buying Corel Painter/Digital Artist from the book store) it has not once turned out a piece like this one. There must be an up-grade I am missing. :-D
