With a study comprised of over three hundred thousand Chinese and Russian women, no significant benefit was found in self-examination compared to those who did not check for lumps.
If anything, the women who did feel underwent twice as many biopsies and were thusly more likely to have surgical complications and unnecessary procedures.

I don't see it as him flexing his muscle. He's just stating a valid point. There's a whole lot of stuff about breast cancer awareness, and even a lot of people striving for prevention/treatment/cures for breast cancer admit that there's almost too much of it, and that more effort needs to be focused on raising the money for treatment centers and research. Not that there is anything wrong with reminding people that breast cancer is a serious problem, of course, it actually does good, in fact. Just, my opinion is that there needs to be less effort on awareness, more effort on funding for the people trying.
For example; instead of buying a pink ribbon [most of my friends are women, it'd be kinda fucked for me to act like it's no big deal], I donated about $800 earlier this year to the Edison Cancer Research Institute in Virginia. :D Ain't much by comparison to what will likely be needed, but...

I was not saying he was not making a valid point in any sense :3 I did, however, not like the comment's underdone to the simple awareness I am only trying to bring to this overall cause. I'm also sorry to hear that you feel there should not be as much effort put into 'awareness' which I find highly important. I completely disagree with you on that point and find that less helpful than anything stated before hand.
I'm glad someone like you can donate money to a fund you choose, that is a great thing! But most of us aren't in that position, keep in mind. Awareness is something that *I* can physically do, and for you to say that physical donations would benefit the cause more is where I become less than thrilled by your remark. But I do understand it's importance, money rules all I guess.
Also the politics and corruption behind the funding is something I do not feel like getting into; but let me make a very simple point that illustrates just that. Cancer studies somehow both prove and disprove this: Most deodorants and similar products have aluminum which is a leading cause to problems. Common sense should tell everyone that aluminum is not a substance that you should be rubbing onto your body on a daily basis.
Either way, funding and awareness are highly important. But I do not feel one is better than the other.
Do become aware and have some common sense when purchasing products.

This is a good point. I think my perception of awareness is mostly that it seems to be a kind of thing that has become marketable. Like...companies love to slap on the pink-ribbon logo a lot, and while I am sure said companies might make some contribution for buying said products, I would think that instead of the 10 cents they might donate, I'd rather donate directly an amount of $1.50, for example. I might not be buying that product but I like to take a more direct initiative towards causes I care about. Like you said though, not everyone has the ability to do what they'd like to do in as direct a way. I'm an idealist, though, I suppose; I'm one of those rare people who believes that humanity can be redeemed and that good is inherent in humanity far more than evil is. To clarify, I do not believe that there should be less awareness, even though I pretty much worded it that way. I believe there should be MORE of it, more of both, in fact.
See, my beef is with the people who do it for a "feel good" feeling. I highly, HIGHLY doubt you are one of these people but I am sure you know what I mean; the people who do the bare minimum. They buy a pink bow, and/or they go to one of those walks, and that's about it. Those walks...well, about $10 out of every $1,000 earned actually goes to the foundations for cancer research; the overhead and expenses of hosting those things is surprisingly high. There are plenty of people who care, I do not refute this in the least. I just think that people, collectively, should do more.
In that sense, we're pretty much on the same page. :P

Nice! That's definitely one way to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month, with a sexy pic starring four of your gorgeous characters to support the cause.
An artist on my watch list,
Dark_Nurse , drew something similar to this last year to promote breast cancer awareness as well: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2891754/
Great job on this pic! Lovely work as always. :)

I seriously.... seriously thought about taking commissions to make money to buy a shirt from them... two-in-one, you know?
I really liked some of those shirts and stuff. x.x But on a more serious note, I am glad that someone else (that I happen to be watching, I might have missed sooo many other pictures..) that has drawn something up for this.
SAVE THE TA-TAS! <3

Cant believe people have to come and be all negative on this sort of thing. Pisses me off, I wonder if their penis feels bigger now huh >.>. Making people aware of how to check for lumps and whatever IS fucking important. I am pretty sure a ton of women have caught cancers early by checking their breasts regularly. Sorry but a few comments up there really annoyed me. Why come and bother to say something at all when this is supposed to be a positive reminder to us all that cancer is out there and could come in to our lives at any point? You're DOING A GOOD THING here with the best intentions, fuck anyone else who tries to make this a negative gesture >.>;;;
I for one think that anyone out there who helps contribute to saving people (yes SAVING lives) or furthering our knowledge about this topic and how to treat it effectively should be exempt from some know it all pissing all over something they're trying to help people with.
Pfftt... people... -.-;;
Anyway I think this is a cute way to convey a serious message and it is great that you support something so important, not just in women's lives but also in men's lives.

I'm glad I'm not alone there, thanks girl! <3 I understand the point that was stated in the previous comments, but I still don't understand why it attracts such negative nancy's at times. My previous images for this cause (and others such as preserving wildlife) seem to strike the same confrontations and I'm frankly tired of it =/
It sucks. Honestly I hope you try to take little notice of it... I don't see how raining on your parade is any better than whatever point the person is trying to make anyway... at the end of the day, you're getting your finger out of your arse and actually trying to help a cause that is worthy of the support.
Keep it u hun, lots of people think it's great. Sorry about the late reply, I have been offline forever ;o;!
