I wrote a death poem for my character's rival, who was the chapter boss in our tabletop campaign that we defeated on Sunday. I figure someone here might find it interesting in addition to the icon I made of my character just to try out a pixely style.
Context being, he was my character's former bandit captain, and my character both adored and detested him and his personality and methods, and constantly compared himself to him. They had a cool showdown at the end, complete with banter.
Your cruel heart’s sooty,
Cracking, popping, embers lit
Clean fire in my heart.
Heavy on my mind
Your deeds and your words reside,
Heavy on my life
Your shadow hangs like thick smoke,
You have gone away
And I still wish you were kind,
But you burned in fire
And I still stand in moonlight,
Regretting not kissing you.
