Personally would like to avoid a 'saber lock' too close to where the beam originates. To me that'd cause damage to the Beam Render opposed to a saber lock further along the blade. Also it could aid in keeping the blade in its holster-esque spot 'if' its carried on ones self. Sorta like a recharge rack that you keep on your hip/under a cloack/or where ever you put it.
