Normally for my entire life in the furry fandom and like other nerd culture, I know that politics isn't normally the appropriate topic to be discussed and really should be avoided completely. But however, that don't excuse how political the furry fandom is becoming leaning mostly to the left wing of the political spectrum. And I hypothesize that I'm one of them lefty furries. I'll explain why in this video as well as provide some examples.

Center, and a bit to the right for me. Now I’m not one to be negative, but I have a sense that the fandom is becoming too political. To the point where I want to just get up and leave. I feel like politics here is the center of who you are for some reason, and I don’t choose friends that way. I choose friends based on character, not affiliation. Many around me have been choosing friends through the latter approach and I’ve even lost some because of this notion or trend.
That’s the reason why I decided to make this video. And I’m not saying this as a good nor bad thing. It’s based on my observations I feel like I want to point out. And making political commentary videos is not my cup of tea as sometimes it starts a lot of shit. Not to mention that I’m from a country where it’s illegal not to care about politics here in Australia thanks to making vote mandatory at all elections. Even here in my country when you celebrate Australia Day, the majority of furries think that you are a racist and the lefties are like that because of the shit that happened to the First Nations since 200 or so years ago. And it’s not just the furry fandom that is getting too involved in politics but other nerd cultures. And even I admit to be a leftie as that I’m an LGBTQ straight ally, and accepting and tolerance to all ethnicities.
You are incorrect the furry fandom has always been very left leaning. I have been around the fansom for two decades and the fandom in that time has never been anywhere close right leaning or ever center in the spectrum.
The furry fandom is a hall of mirrors for the far left. And this is not from the prospective from someone that is a Republican but a Libertarian who holds some very left sided opinions.
