Usually am not a huge fan of scuba gear - where's the fun if you don't have to hold your breath? :P - however for some reason on cetaceans and other aquatic creatures it becomes surprisingly interesting again xP
P.s. Note the second mouthpiece - this scuba gear is meant for a potential rider as well! You will have to share the air with your dolphin partner however~

For the very most part yes (it has happened that due to injury of the blowhole, at least one know dolphin is breathing through their 'beak'). Furthermore they have a strong instinct to hold it closed and it does not open when unconscious on its own either. Such a scuba gear would have to either bypass the muscle that seals the blowhole, or be in such a way that the 'phin feels like breathing at the surface~
