'Reaper' is a human colloquialism; Transformers do not harvest using scythes. Road Razor (another human colloquialism; Transformers don't shave) would have referred to the Necrobot.

Originally these three were not separate individuals, but one single entity (me) whose personality would alter depending on how many skins he had around him, so to speak. Some Transformers - "loadbearers" - have the ability to don larger bodies around their own and motivate it as their own, ex. Minimus Ambus, aka Ultra Magnus. I don't know if this works better; while Sabrewing would certainly benefit from being able to deploy from inside Steeldrum, Steelie's personality makes that deal unlikely. Likewise, Sabrewing's own relative vulnerability would not make him much of a shelter for Road Razor - although the Minicon would offer a welcome addition to his notably underpowered arsenal.
