This long poem expresses how I truly feel about you all. Each and every person. My furiends, friends, family, enemies, and even strangers. I don't know if everyone will enjoy it, but this is my philosophy of life. And I hope you all...look beyond the paint.
Look Beyond the Paint
When you look at a painting...what do you see?
Capture the essence of the paint...
Each brushstroke...each touch of color....
But what makes it art?
Look beyond the paint, beyond the canvas, beyond the brush.
Look back, and capture what is truly there...
Feel the soul that lays inside the marble...
Hear the beauty of the art around you.
And ask yourself....
What makes it art?
What did the artist feel when he picked up the brush?
What did he feel when he let his mind go free
And let his imagination become the breath of life in his art...
Now ask yourself....why?
Each piece of art tells a story.
A simple brushstroke on a canvas may be simple
But to the artist, it holds more words than one lifetime can bring.
Beyond the paint, and hear the artist talk....
Now look around you....
Each person....alive or dead...is a work of art.
Each breath that we take, each tear that we shed
Each moment of our lives, people, that is the art of life.
Look beyond the paint, and see the truth in the art.
Look beyond our flesh and into our soul
Our minds...our hearts.....
We all are works of art
Unique and beautiful beyond all compare.
We are the treasured masterpieces in the hallowed halls of the universe
Take a moment and think....
Do not ask yourself Am I Art?
Ask yourself what will the art of my life portray?
And finally...
Remember this....
People are like art...
We are all different, and yet all the same...
We are unique and beautiful in our own way.
And though others may not appreciate our story...
We are still the majesty of the world's splendor.
My personal comments:
A few days ago, I was talking to my therapist.(Big shock, hu?) Well, I told her that people who look at Mona Lisa, only see her smile, and just never getting to know the story behind her....her story...her creator....her.....
“Look at this, mother” “Shes smiling...but is she happy?” “She looks happy...so what does it matter?” Those words were from my favorite movie, Mona Lisa Smile. Isn't true, however, that we look solely on the lines and colors of the art, and yet we never take the time to look at the artist's true feelings. I also feel that its the same way with people. We look at one person, but we never really try and understand what they are really like. Looking beyond them...and seeing the thing that is truly there, the real person, and not just something they portray to you. I hope that these words truly speak to you all. I hope you enjoy it.

Then shouldnt we work harder to allow people to look beyond our smiles? Shouldnt we all open up a bit more and let the people around us see who we really are?
Im not just words on a Monitor, Im a real person with real feelings, ambitions, and Friends. Look past that which you see, and you'll find a world of understanding you've never known before.
Everyone can look behind the smile, you just have to let them.

Yes... but there are times when it's not simply letting them, they have to let themselves, too, no? It is simple to say, 'Allow me in, let me see what you hide,' and far harder to bear that truth. The sad matter is that it is simply easier to not look beyond the masks we wear for those we play to, is it not, Sev? To see a person's hurts are, after all, to make them your own, to carry them with you. And, sadly, few indeed are those who would wish such a thing.
Then Count Me as One Of Those Few.
I say that communication is best between anyone in any relationship, whether it be Mateship or Friendship. So the first thing I do when I make a friend is ask about them and allow them the ability to tell me whatever they want without fear of being judged, because if they cant trust me as a friend, then who can they trust? Some people just need people with that type of personality around, otherwise they go through life bottling emotions up and inwardly (sometimes outwardly) hating everything around them, because they dont know if those Happy people around them are also hiding their problems.
I wish people were more open with one another, yes, but some people find it easier to hide everything...even if it kills them in the end.
