After failing with the last head I went back and tried a more Armored Core-ish head and for some odd damn reason i can make an AC head-ish head but I can't do a Zaku-ish head. WTF?
Eh, not going to complain, will likely add this to whatever body i can build.
Modeled in Google Sketchup 7.
Took about 45 minutes give or take.
Enjoy~

heavy gear, a very old pc game, I think the windows 95 era or so, it was a good game that got over-shadowed by mechwarrior back in it's heyday. the game was different in that you could mix and match mech parts in order to get the capabilites you want, and mechs used giant rifles and gernades as "hand held" weapons that you could take from defeated mechs, or you could drop yours to lower your weight and up your speed. most of the weapons were ballistic or exsplove in type, though a lazer cannon comes into play late game, and actually makes light mechs a viable type again.
something else I never saw before or since was the mechs all had tank treads in their feet, so you could put the mech in "roll out" mode where your mech crouches down a little and diverts most of it's power to the treads to escape quickly, or make a surpise attack, or jump off a cliff onto a hostile airship that is about to launch an attack on your recently bombed base alone and if you miss you have to fight it from the under side where all of it's firepower is trained at you and your mech is a stolen unit meaning no god setup for your offense and defense where you might actually stand a chance. (god damn that mission was hard.)
my prefered mech was a mix of grizzly mk2 and chetta mk2 with all the extra gizmos and stuff you can put in, so I had great speed, high weight limit, long range radar, passive radar, radar jammer, low light vision, infrared vision, extended missle auto lock range, auto repair units throughout, anti-missle lock jammers, that god cannon of a lazer rifle, 2 chest machine guns (those silly armpit guns.) two sets of 50LRM missles set on 5 missle set shot pairs, and the mini-alteraly piece on the back with launched grenades at a ranged of 900 Km. 130 kilometer/hour max speed, with a 260Km/h rollout speed, with jump jets, and I was a very fast death machine that could take several lazer shots before going down (considering that lazer cannon can basicaly one shot anything that isn't a squad leader, that's a nice bit of protection).
of course, most of the entire end-game squads have almost that as well, so it's really just the normal "the player mech is only slightly better"

Ah, sounds like a cool game. I imagine it'd likely work for my old white case since it can play Starcraft and C&C games. Need something thats more of a FPS than a RTS. Really miss being able to run and gun.
Hopefully whenever Armored Core: Last Raven, Armored Core: Silent Line, and Armored Core Formula Front Extreme Battle arrive i'll have some new mech games to help inspire more mecha stuff to be modeled.

yeah it's fun, it even has this never ending skrmish battle mode, where you just choose missions that will benifit your side of the war, and as you get the points up, the stuff you can use gets better, and in that mode you can set up the mechs your team mates use more throughly, since in the main game they take the mech you give them, but choose their own weapon setups.
and in that mode lazer weapons never appear, so you don't have to worry about getting one shot-ed randomly.
