I actually drew this about a month ago, for a very short story I wrote even farther back. It just occurred to me now that I should post it here. I think that both the drawing and the prose turned out pretty alright for my being an almost complete beginner in both fields.
When I imagined the Twyl, they seemed to be like a mixture of scribs from Morrowind and acid antlions from Half-Life 2. They may not look like it, but the two Twyl that the story centers on represent naive curiosity. I will post the short story later today.
The name Twyl is a variation of the first name that had come to mind: Twill. It turns out that that's a type of cloth, I guess, so I removed an 'L' to make 'Twil'. But that was too much like Twilight so I changed the 'I' to a 'Y', and then the name was finalised.
