So me and my buddy
darkwren intend to start Airsofting in the Wisconsin area hopefully within this month or the next.
Knowing that, I've decided to upload a few pictures of me in my gear.
Excuse the grainy nature of these photos. I took them with my Droid.
We're going to be deploying with Tiger Stripe as our main choice for camo, as its fairly versatile as to what you can blend in with. The FlakJak goggles were originally a bright tan (desert) color, but that was nothing some hot water and three packets of Rit Black Dye couldn't fix.
I'm sporting a Matrix S.D.E.U. Tactical Vest with Matrix Elbow and Knee Pads. I've got a Cobra 35 Mile Radio with an Ear Piece for communications out in the field or in an Arena. And yes, I'm sporting some Tripp Studded Arm-Warmers, although I'm thinking of just going with some compression wraps instead, as the Arm-Warmers are thick and don't ventilate well. And, of course, can't forget the good ol' Balaclava.
I've got a Condor Tactical Belt with a Matrix Pistol Holder that holsters my Limited Edition - Blow Back Nighthawk 1911 Green Gas Pistol. The thing fires great too.
I also have a pair of Matrix CQB gloves that should help keep the sting off of any CQB BB's that hit me in the hands.
Depending on what picture you're looking at, you may or may not see my beautiful Ares/STAR G36 Battle Rifle at my side, behind me, or in my hand. Its stock for the most part, although I've got a Mag-Well converter to use M4 Mags (with which I need to modify the well or my Mags to work together...) although its not attached at the moment. Its also got a Madbull - Noveske KX3 Sound-Amplification Flash-Hider. The G36 comes standard with a carrying rail, which has a built in 3x Zoom Scope AND a Red-Dot sight. Not to mention there's also a Built-In Bipod! Heckler and Koch design some absolutely beautiful guns!
Also, even though the G36 Battle doesn't come standard with any rails, Wren and I were able to manage getting a rail mounted underneath it with absolutely NO modification to the weapon itself. There's square holes that line the bottom of the barrel guard. Its got some very SLIGHT sway to it, but other than that, the sucker is solid. Damn do I love this gun!
One of these days, probably near Christmas, I'm gonna buy the Grenade Launcher attachment for it! That and a shorter gun, maybe a G36C, for CQB.
Caution - FYI: Airsoft is merely a Military Simulation sport thats rapidly growing in popularity, very similar to Paintball. The guns look real, so NEVER remove your orange-flashhider. Or if you do, NEVER bring it out in public. You cannot physically distinguish an Airsoft Weapon from a Real Weapon by sight alone!

that's why airsoft has been forbidden in most european countries. too many kiddies and teenies played around and some even tried to rob banks/stores with airsoft. the list of such idiots killed by police is long... very long... and nobody's really sorry for them. hell, some kiddies playing war were killed by hunters who thought they were poachers, trespassing their territory...
The general law, in America, is that there must be an orange/red flash-hider attached to the weapon, or that there must be an orange/red blaze of so so width in order for the weapon to be considered displayable in public or transportable outside of a case. This helps law-enforcement distinguish them as toys, but even so, I wouldn't' doubt an officer would treat an airsoft scenario as an actual weapon. Its also very much so illegal to actually fire an airsoft weapon within city limits of most towns/cities.
In my case, my weapon is never setting foot outside unless I'm transporting it (IN A GUN CASE) to my fellow airsofting friend's house, or to an event.
In Canada, if I'm not mistaken, all airsoft weapons must be transparent to a degree in certain spots for it to be considered sellable/transportable.
In any case, this is what private property and certified events are for.
Airsofting has its responsibilities, and people who act like idiots when in possession of them, should be banned from the sport all-together, and often times they are. Its stupid people like that that give us normal, respectful airsofters, a bad name.

Woo, G36. Really need to take mine out and shoot it. Nice gear by the way, more than I have and of better quality all around, only decent gear i have is my Fidragon leg holster and Matrix G36.
And after reading through the above comments actually wrote a report on Airsofting a couple years or so back. I think it shed some light on some things that most people 'think' they know about airsofting that only know from reading the negative stuff about it.

Thanks. G36's be awesome, and the G36 battle Rifle comes with all sorts of stuff integrated! Red dot, 3x scope, bipod, badassery all around... love it.
And yeah, I'm kinda growing tired already of all the crap Airsoft gets because of the idiots that everyone pays attention to. :/

I was going to get a sniper conversion kit for mine, but my father insisted the hex nut was a push pin. Won't be getting a sniper conversion kit now, but oh well, would likely have had to upgrade the gear box after i put the conversion kit on.
Alot of people look at me crazy when i say "yeah i airsoft" but its fun to let people see me in what gear i have. Just have to have extra padding since i haven't yet got a vest tend to airsoft more during the winter than the summer. Since my 'armor' is a shirt and 2 hoodies. XD I think people really should look into what they don't understand before being all negative about it.

I was fairly close to buying the Sniper Butt-Stock for my G36, which costs $100 on Evike.com, but my friend eventually coaxed me out of it at the last minute. I wanted a shorter stock than the default one, cause the default, foldable, skeleton stock they come with is just a wee bit too long I feel (roughly 10"). So that would've been a waste, even though you can rewire your G36 with the supplied wiring to re-route the power-supply to a proprietary battery G&P makes that fits in that exact Sniper Stock.
I'm glad we managed to get the foregrip on it without any modification to the weapon itself. I just can't wait for Christmas to roll over, though, cause then I'll be buying the G36 Grenade Launcher (also from ARES/Star) to perfect my weapon as the ultimate all-purpose field setup. Might be going with a P90 for my CQB weapon.
My gear definitely keeps me toasty, which will probably be a pain in the ass during summer as well. Most of the heat comes from the Tactical Vest, which wraps around you TWICE in a sense. There's a velcro-wrap underneath the vest that wraps around you once. Then add to the fact that the armor itself is also there, and bam... heat goes nowhere but straight back into you.
And yeah, I agree heavily with what you said on how people should actually look into the shit they're about to criticize, before actually doing it. Beyond airsoft, to the scope of things in all generality. But that's asking too much of those people, whom lack a certain kind of, obvious, intelligence. :/

I made a habit buying from Evike.com, only thing i didn't get from them are my bbs and my face mask which i got from Wal-mart and my Fi-dragon leg holster which i got from a specialty store.
If i don't get an actual gun or 360 will likely 'try' and get a full metal sniper rifle that's spring fire or takes a Co2 tube. Need something to reach out and touch my airsofting bud with. Oh, and i recall from above earlier you said your G36 didn't come with a rail, mine came with the bottom rail already on it, but has a spot on each side for two more. Really wish i had all the rails, would have a forward grip/laser combo with a light on the side.
I should try and find a good vest, might be the next xmas.
True enough, heh, and again true enough about the lack of a certain intelligence.
