...but you must beware the most of Aurok. — said The Teacher — ¹²⁰Aurok is the king of birds, yet while birds take our precious ¹²¹fruits of labor, Aurok takes the laborers themselves. ¹²²He does it with his feet. Nothing no evil comes from them. ¹²³He will target all yours best people, ones that are role models ¹²⁴and our loved ones, and take them to the sky. But not to sanctify ¹²⁵them — The Teacher raised his voice — but to devour them. ¹²⁶They won't get their place on the sky and they won't return.
The least expected thing stings the most
When Knowledge Horizon came above the Garrnil's homeworld nobody knew how what will come next. They couldn't, it was the first contact with the first intelligent species for both Humans and Garrnil.
Humans had an advantage in this contact because they had a time to prepare for it. They came with a plan, which at first worked well. Although one may accuse Humans of not well thought parts like the fact they appeared above the planet out of nowhere to the surprise of Garrnil not knowing what is going on, the plan seemed to be OK.
After the first struggles with learning each other language, Humans began to answer to Garrnil questions. One such question was "Where are you come from?" to which Humans answered swiftly by pointing to a star on the sky. This simple gesture made Garrnil nervous to put it mildly. In fact for some of them this made them scared to death.
It was because our Sun lies in the constellation Aurok. What's more important it lies in its feet. This seemed to fit in with the old Garrnil legend of a lethal bird and, although at the time of the contact this legend lost relevance and wasn't believed to be a real thing by the many of Garrnil, for some it was like a prediction came true.
This caused the Garrnil government to hold down further contacts with Humans until the situation calms down. They said it may take 30 garrnil years until Humans may come back and finish (or not) their plan. Humans listened to Garrnil and leaved. This also made a hot debate among Humans about how "well" the plan has been made and how to prevent such a conflict in the future.
The solution hasn't come until Kadds...
