At my workplace we get hundreds of iPads from school districts or whatever to be recycled or wiped/reset for resell, and since I've been working with the company for 15 months now, they decided to let me have one of the iPads for my Apple collection (as long as I wipe all personal data off it before using it for myself!) It's an older model, the 5th generation from 2017 (when they revived the "regular" iPad after just having the iPad Air, Mini and Pro models for a while), but it still runs the current iPad OS! It's the 32 GB Wi-Fi -only model. I don't plan to use or travel with it as often as my iPhone SE (as that does have a much better camera), but it's great for reading eBooks and fanfictions on when in bed or whatever, or any other web browsing in an area where there's Wi-Fi, or watching streaming service apps on or showing off my photo library. Plenty of uses for this baby!
