Good news! In 2021, an endangered pink handfish (Brachiopsilus dianthus) was spotted for the first time in 22 years. The handfish was caught on camera in a protected marine park off the south-west coast of Tasmania, and at a greater depth than they were previously thought to reside. That their habitable range is larger than once believed, and that there is a population residing in this protected region, offers hope for the continued survival of the species.
