First, they are both well rounded characters. Drift is especially well-fleshed out with flaws and goodness that make him seem like a person I might actually meet going out my door. He also never comes across as trite and silly even when he's being silly.
And of course, Alexis and her inner conflicts is just great to watch!
The fact that they have a good writer chronicling their tales also helps matters immensely.
Even though you've told me what's going to happen, I look forward to reading about it!
