"Adam was a young scientist who worked in the Valenciian department of defense mostly specific in the chemical weapons division, at first the Valencian crown had no interest on the development of a chemical arsenal, but upon witnessing the horror of the War between Cyrillis and Omarites they develop and avid interest on developing their own mortiferous substances as a last resource, Adam's team was working in a very specific type of gas designed to surpass the air filters of Omarite power armour and after almost 8 years of development they finally had a stable and reliable formula for this gas, although the whole team was thrilled with their breakthrough Adam was excited for other reasons...

During the whole development of the gas Adam's theories were always overshadowed by his colleagues and this hurt much his inflated ego this combined with lower salary than expected made Adam very resentful, this was later exploited by a mysterious man who approached him, this man who present himself just as "The Merchant" was a well connect spy of the Kabirah empire, and he had immense interest on the gas research since the Kabirah empire was once again preparing for a war against the Omarites and this gas could be the edge they needed to win this time.

The Merchant made a handsome business proposal for Adam, in exchange for all the data pack and formula of the gas he would receive 100 million titles of silver and a ride to escape safely, Adam had no issues with this deal he was not just ready but excited to betray his nation and colleagues for such reward, the plan was perfect in the previous night he took the microfilm containing all the data about the gas and rigged a incendiary bomb on the laboratory, once his colleagues arrived in the next morning to work they were greeted by a nasty surprise of napalm, the entire team was incinerated to death...But Adam was safe several kilometers away in a inconspicuous fishing boat crossing the river between the Valencii commonwealth and the Kabirah empire, everything was going according to plan and soon Adam would be a millionaire, he was already making plans and dreaming with the size of the manor he would buy in the Free Trader Kingdoms, when all the suddenly something on the water catched his atention, a huge shadow bellow the boat, was it some sort of whale? Adam reached the edge of the boat to investigate, in this moment the boat was hit by a unimpresive but powerful enough wave that threw him overboard.

Adam didn't know how to swim and sunk like a brick, once deep in to the water he saw himself greeted by a huge creature black and golden, a mix of feline and fish, big as a whale and not very friendly, if Adam had time he would probably remember the legends about merfolk and fishmen, and have his skeptic mind completely changed, but he had no time for it, before he could even process what was happening he saw the mouth of the creature biting his head and everything going dark, soon his head was nothing more than crushed remains the mouth of the hungry creature,the fisherman stopped the boat and tried to throw buoy but once he noticed the blood and viscera floating in the water he just started the engine again and fled pretending nothing of that happened. By just a ridiculous amount of bad luck the soon to be milionarie was now just a mass of mangled remains in the stomach of a vile creature, the precious microfilm containing all the data about the gas was digested with his body, some may say this was a fate planned by the gods, others may call it karma, but for Adam it matters very little anyway." No he didn't planned this, this is no 4d chess of his part, he was just scouting the canal for fishmen nests and happen to meet this little morsel in the water, although Danadriel had no idea what this guy did he can feel when someone is shitty, so he had no moral issue and making this guy his dinner.


in this world merfolk and fishmen are at constant war, when diving Danadriel transforms in to a "mermaid" because of the 2 races this is the only one he likes, they are both naturaly hostile to land people but thanks to his shapeshifting habilities he was able to ally with the merfolk at certain extent.
