It took 5 1/2 years, and a lot of sacrifice, a few breakdowns, a shitload of pulling all-nighters, but in the end, it all paid off. As of December 12, 2020, I am officially a graduate of Marshall University.
It didn't come easy I'll say. I started off majoring in Radio/Television Production, but due to my struggles, I switched halfway through to Art. Even while majoring in Art, I still had struggles.
Isn't to say I didn't have a social life. I attended my first frat party (it was lit when I first came to campus), had my first beer, had a laugh with friends. Even went clubbing almost every Saturday with friends, though I eventually lost interest in clubbing later on. Experienced love with my first boyfriend, and experienced my first real heartbreak. I went to a few cons too and met a bunch of cool people. Of all the cons I went to during that time, I would say FurReality 2018 was my favorite.
There are a lot of things that I miss, I miss the people I met, I miss the clubs and fraternities that I participated in, walking through downtown Huntington and Ritter Park, shit, I even miss the damn racquetball courts, as I has just gotten back into racquetball before COVID hit.
But the one thing I miss most of all is
BigDev92. Since August of 2016, we've grown to be the best of friends. I'll never forget the times we would eat our hearts out at Asian buffets, our trips to the mall, playing Smash together, and enjoying the YTP panels at Tsubasacon...Jesus Christ were we laughing our asses off. He's been there for me through thick and thin, and has put up with my bullshit throughout the years we've been friend. He's like a big brother to me and I'm happy that I got to know him, and even happier that I became friends with him.
A special thanks goes out to
SkullcatStudios for this amazing piece. I had already done another graduation piece with Elias, but I'm still debating on whether I should post it.
Erick belongs to me.
