This is a lower quality mp3 than usual so, sorry. The higher quality one was too big:(
It's been a while since I have done a simple recording like this. I really have fun doing this sort of thing. I actually sat down to record "Helpless" by Neil Young when I recorded this :P
Guitar/vocals: me, overhead mic'd with a wide diaphragm rode NT1-A. Both done on the same track on the 4th take.
As a side note, I just realized have now nearly covered this entire album O.O

Ah, yes, the Clear Channel Memorandum.
That, to me, symbolized everything that was wrong with the "post-9/11 mindset." Too many people were too willing to give up any sense of normalcy in the name of falling in line.
Interestingly, a lot of the songs on the list weren't even REMOTELY related to what had happened, like the Beatle's "Ob La Di, Ob La Da."
I swear, anyone who refers to this as the "post-9/11 world" as a serious conversation point has absolutely nothing of value to add to a conversation.

Yeah thats about right. I remember listening to my classic rock station and listening to them play all those songs in the order they appeared on the list >:3
I used to play this at the anti war protests too. Those days were pretty dark but I think that some god came out of it and we still haven't fully recovered yet.
Soon the kids that were born after it happened will be able to discuss it intelligently. We'll see what history has to say when these events are looked upon with some unclouded eyes and pure hearts.

I feel ya there. I herd they all went to the Variety show at RF and that you were the best singer there. You going to do any Cat Stevens? I am so Addicted to him lately "The Wind" is my favorite on although "King of Trees" is good as well as "Bonfire" and "North Wind"... So Many good Cat Stevens songs.....
I may be one of the few here that actually remember this when it was first played early in the 70's. It was a ground breaking piece of music. Most of the talk about it was "what the heck was he singing about?". There were so many people saying the damnedest things about it. Of course, the biggest thing that anyone would talk about is that they were amazed that some radio stations would play the full and entire song. It was a really big deal back then! }:=)
I theorize that the song is a secret message to the American people that Mick Jagger is actually Satan and the only way to defeat him is to dry up all the rivers in the country and drive to them in American built automobiles while drinking copious amounts of rye based liquor.
This is a very awesome cover! Your voice seems nearly effortless here. This is one of my favorite classic rock songs, and you do it very good justice. This is a very good cover, especially considering that the only tracks are an acoustic guitar and a voice. You've done something pretty awesome, kudos.
