After a while the fire started dimming down to just glowing embers. Maria yawned as the evening drew on longer and the wind outside was starting to calm. She was getting tired now and with the warmth of the fire it was a good idea to get to bed before it fully went out.
Maria got up with a stretch, glancing over at Shadow still sitting in front of the fire.
'Is probably a good time to call it night. Good night Shadow' She said with a smile as she stood up and patted him lightly on the shoulder. Walking over to her bed and flopped back on it a moment, she sighed and smiled being glad it was much warmer tonight with the hefty fire they had been able to have today making the cabin comfortable. As she sat up she was startled as Shadow sat down next to her bed and laid his head in her lap looking up at her with a light snort.
'S-Shadow?'
