So, picture this. You have a Synth that you A) like a lot, and B) trust with your life. So, you don't bat an eye when he tries to make a backup of himself on a super primitive frame, even though his n-bit process has no possibility of ever being compatible on this frame's 16-bit process.
Then, you forget which of your frames has the backup, and you give it to your friend as a guardian.
Then, the frame discovers this hidden file, and tries to implement it.
This, obviously, doesn't go well. But, the frame is witty and discovers that it can still run the program so long as it makes errors, mostly rollovers, an integral part of its programming.
...flash forward. This frame hears about an OS that would let it modify its own code, while it's running, as well as make general improvements to every aspect of its functionality. It does anything to get it.
He does. As well as a new body, one that it can upgrade. But the super-volatile nature of this being's thought process infiltrates this new body and program, carrying over its quirk of constant integral rollover errors.
He's happy. And inconceivably volatile and overpowered compared to the shite frame it was always meant to be. What's more to love?
I guess he is feathery now. That's something more to love!
