Here is a new jam. I have done a few sessions since the beginning of the new year, but alas I have not recorded one until now.
This is a fun little semi-random jam. The bass is cycling through a sequence, but at random intervals. The "melody" is set to jump randomly and is triggered by probability.
So not quite a generative patch, but it makes things interesting. Sorry for the vanilla drum line, I was focused more on performing the melody than switching drum patterns.

Yeah! One of these days I would like to get a rack set up that can truly handle some almost-from-scratch generative music (and sound good!). Unfortunately, from what I've seen of other artists' studios I may need a system that takes up a sizable chunk of my wall. >.>
When I discovered synthesizers, analog and modular gear, I didn't really expect to get so into it, when originally it was just for fun as play, but now has become a more serious obsession into sound design and making electronic music. My rack it around 1000ish HP currently, and is really focused around sound design and creating playable patches with the use of a lot of complex parallel routing and choice distortion effects\modules used.
i don't understand why the drum line is there. seems like there's plenty enough rythm without it and to me, it adds nothing. i would really love to listen to this without it. i could be wrong, because obviously i haven't, but i really suspect it would be better that way. i really like what i'm hearing, except for it, kind of getting in the way and distracting.
That is an interesting perspective. Thanks for the feedback.
In some parts I agree, the drums do not really add anything. But when I started putting this patch together, the intent was to make a "song" with different layers. I got distracted with exploring the interaction between the melody and bass. Yeah, maybe I will make a clip that just has those two elements so you can hear them more distinctly.
