Once upon a time there was guy who created a fan fiction series about a reality were the bulk of the SONIC cast were babies, called (what else?) SONIC BABIES. In hindsight, the series wasn't very good: a bunch of scripts with rehashed ideas at best, barely-existent plots at worst and one-note characterizations. With the passage of time the scripts started to give way to a more prose-like structure... but still got bogged down through ambitious arcs which didn't need to be there and the demands of college. In 2010/11, the series came to a halt and the account it was originally posted on was nuked in early November 2012 during a particularly bad depressive spell. The original SONIC BABIES is all but lost online, relegated to an old shame.

Fast forward less than ten years later. That guy is in a better position in his personal life than he imagined, with more skill in telling stories, and a better grasp on how the world works... suffered another down. It passed rather quickly, and as it did, he played with the idea of giving his crummy 2000's script series a do-over... SONIC BABIES: LIFE'S WORTH LIVING.


I drew, inked, and digitally colored Baby Sonic. The details on his diaper were done with colored pencil, to give it a little texture, and pasted in post. I tried to mimic an AlphaGatorZ, but probably muffed it as you move backward.
