Kamikaze was the only Betta fish I've ever owned. He hated his little bowl, and kept trying to leap out (had to put his holey lid back on the bowl. Oddly enough I put a little smiling Buddha statue in there and he totally mellowed. Add the bamboo and he was a happy camper to the very end.

He was feeling lonely, you put in a happy Buddha, he becomes happy too, you put in bamboo -> everyone loves bamboo -> he's even happier. Kinda like this?

Lol. cute fish. I had a betta too that did that, jumped out of the bowl. I'd try the idea and see what'd happen, but that was a few years ago and he's already passed on from old age.

Nonetheless, a pretty cool drawing.
