In a world so full of darkness and danger, it was strange to many, almost shocking, to see someone so unaffected by it. This was not to say that Sky was ignorant, or that she didn't care for these troubles. Quite the opposite, her father and those around her heard no end of her questions and concerns, her creative musings for solutions. Nor was this to say that she had some edge on everyone else, that she "understood" happiness and never had trouble. Knowing her for even a day would dispel those notions. But as she sat on the floor, looking up with her deepest emotions displayed clearly around her neck, one could see a unique optimism in the wolf, an excitement for life that seemed in otherwise such short supply.
