The Reverence is a group that is formed within The Backrooms with an unknown motive whether to deliver harm or to protect wanderers similar to MEG.however they displays aggressive behaviours to humans and entities equally and never seems to take interest in them except The Eyes Of Argos,another group inside the Backrooms that is known for their killing spree that is called "cleansing" or "pure extermination for the sinned."

Despite being totally neutral and rarely brings,quote "rarely",brings threat to the Backrooms and it's community inside the levels,they are extremely manipulative in term of interacting with other Wanderers to do their dirty biddings in promise of power,wealth or reputation.of course this leads to some troubles that sometimes had MEG working in the background as some sort of guards,advisors or armed men to take care of the Reverence attempt to fool people into doing their stuff.

You may be asking,what kind of stuff they want you to do?
It usually involves killing,risking yourself to kill an impossible to die entity(Argos especially),social experimentation that ends horribly,peace disturbance that they said to "test if humans are able to control themselves in the state of low sanity" even though they aren't and mostly hiring.

The group appears to be very formal and secretive,often use speculation and calculation to determine or predict what will happen.this make things harder for MEG to fight or prevent them from touching or hiring the wanderers as they are tricky and got away with most attempts to take catch them.not to mention,they have no home base at all except Level -15,which by the way a reminder,a pretty dangerous level in term of its environment.the level is devoid of entities but it's extreme conditions can kill you even you're the strongest person in the world.it is also a rumor which might be true because a photographer survived in Level -15 and got an image of The Reverence,showing nothing but a silhouette of a man in fedora and trench coat.

Odd to know that apparently fedora and trench coat is their uniform,making it easier to know who you are talking too if you ever encounter one.it is advised to stay away from them and do not listen to their calls if they try to tell you to come to them.of course this irritates them but again,they show zero psychical aggression to anyone unless they had too.they simply hates humans.

Let's us not forget that they have few couple of people that is notoriously known for many crimes and works under them as something called "Representative", basically another term for special agent.
So far there are three special agents that MEG able to gather information about.these three people are:

The Omen
-act some sort of messenger and unit to indoctrinate people into joining the Reverence,they are the main priority of MEG due to their ability to indoctrinate people and brainwashing them into believing that the Reverence is their home,their life and their work.

The Shape
-The Shape used to be a fellow member of BNTG(Backroom Nonaligned Trade Group)that worked in their data room.however,he quitted because he found his job quite less engaging and wanted to find out more.so he seeked out The Reverence to join them but had to leave in a life of an anonymous because The Reverence capability to apply an effect that scrambled any photographs,videos or anything that displays his face into a blur.this makes him nearly untraceable.

The Duke Of Process.
-an MIA unit that is lost after a fight with Argos that occured somewhere in Level 6.rumours said it is a secret weapon used by the Reverence to terminate their target or to cover up evidence they left,witnesses mostly.sadly Duke Of Process disappeared after encountering Argos and The Reverence is unable to find him.

The Steel
-The Steel is what some would call an alien because its shape and look is similar to a description of alien that abducted two men in the 80s.they describes it as "smooth,metallic skinned space monsters that whispers in their ears."these exact description seems to match with The Steel,who are capable of telepathic communication and often helps out people because they are somewhat less relevance to the Reverence but still a useful asset.


In conclusion,The Reverence is simply.... mysterious.they are dangerous and mysterious, working anonymously behind the wall and labyrinth of the backrooms.they do sometimes contribute themselves with The Steel but mostly,they do harm than help.it is why MEG kept an eye on them for the long time,spying and interrogating former members of the Reverence or one that is nearly indoctrinated by the Omen.nobody know what they truly are and what is their purpose....
