This is really cool. You didn't specify the world, but I think this could easily be Zoness some time after the war. Fox finds himself with some downtime and he surveys some of the damage Andross and his uprising caused. The entire planet of Zoness becoming acidic and polluted, mutating and forever destroying the once prosperous vacation world. What's Fox spreading? My guess is the sand at his feet or perhaps the ashes of someone he knew?
