Wow, Zara! How much would you say one of these costs to produce, material wise, and how much time did it take so far to get to that point?

UHM. I've been working on bits and pieces of it for a couple of months, but I did the bulk of the body pieces within the last few weeks. Its hard to say for materials, since I used a lot of stuff that I already had lying around, but maybe about 800nz at a rough guess?

Finally you post pictures of that "WIP" mask you posted a while ago. Looking good tho! How's comfortable is the mask/is there any mouth/jaw motion?

The mask is comfortable, but there's no jaw motion. It's a little hard to incorporate with the shape of its face.

what did you use to make this?
ive been interested in making a mask for myself for years now and thinking im finally gunna do it lolol. just trying to figure what materials are probably best.

What kinda masks are you making? :O Materials really depend on what you want, and budget.
This was mostly made out of foam and latex. But lots of random bits and pieces in there too.

foam is one of the things I was really look at for it.

I suppose in the end what you can say is Im making a murrsuit for myself, I just dont really want it to end up cartoony x3 Dont want a hyooge head and cartoon eyes etc.
maybe that isnt the best description either D: Karn mask I guess unno

I wanna try making a realistic-type fursuit too. I still have yet to try with that fur stuff >> Taxidermy eyes and tearduct vision looks like the way to go for realistic.

ide love to see a zara now that you say youre making one O: im also kinda curious if theres a way i could actually make wider eye sockets and just use my own lol.. eh that may require too much prep then and the taxidermy eyes may be better.

first thing i really think i need to do is get that foam and maybe a head to model it on after i get my proportions. but now that you mention latex, maybe getting a coat or it after the foam would make things less lumpyyy

It was actually Chris modelling. I have some other amazing shots that I should show you, from when he was on stage.

This took quite a while since it included the clothing underneath, and make-up around the eyes. But otherwise like 10 minutes to get all the pieces on?

The mask turned out amazing! Makes me really want to do mask and body-suits haha, very inspiring!

I love costume stuff, just being able to bring the creatures in my head to life somewhat. I would be very interested to see whatever masks you come up with, if you decided to make one.

There were worse creatures made on SyFy channel's "Face Off" series, and yes I mean that as a compliment, for most were good makeup professionals who knew their way around costuming and prosthetics.
