2/2 Seafood dishes for a special seafood dinner I did about a week ago. This goes great with the previous seafood boil: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45674315/
What You'll Need:
-3 boxes of Pasta Roni and all it's needed ingredients. (Which one? Any Pasta Roni will do. For this mix I used butter and herb italiano.)
-1/2 pound of imitation crab meat
-1 can of minced clams (You can typically find tuna cans with things other than tuna on the same aisle. I'd say experiment with whatever canned seafood sounds good to you, i.e. scallops, salmon, sardines, etc.)
-1 can of shredded crab meat (Why imitation crab AND real crab? Well, the thing about real crab meat is that it's very flaky and thus doesn't have the body that imitation crab has since imitation crab is basically just crab flavored blubber. Adding both really gives it that tasty crab fusion.)
-1/2 stick of butter
-1/2 cup of oil. Vegetable or olive works fine, but I'd recommend getting a slightly higher quality oil such as ones infused with roasted garlic or basil.
-creole
-garlic salt
-black pepper
-onion powder
(All seasonings, add to preference)
Step 1:
Start by chopping the imitation crab meat into bite sized pieces. Also drain the water/oil from the real crab and clam cans.
Step 2:
Add butter, imitation crab, real crab, and minced clams to a skillet. Cook on high for 3-5 minutes. Do not add the seasonings or oil yet.
Step 3:
After 3-5 minutes when imitation crab starts to break down and brown just a bit, add the oil. The excess water will dry up a bit so this is just to ensure the mixture stays moist. Continue cooking an additional 3-5 minutes. Set aside when finished for now.
Step 4:
During step 2-3 you can begin cooking the Pasta Roni following the directions on the back of the box. Make sure to add about 1/4 cup more of the wet ingredients. (Pasta Roni usually requires water and milk) Cook for as long as the directions say.
Step 5:
When the Pasta is done, combine your seafood mixture to the pastas pot. Mix together to let all those flavors get to know each other. Continue to cook for a few minutes longer until pasta sauce has boiled down a bit.
Step 6:
This step is crucial to ALL pasta that most people skip so don't skip it. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to thicken for at least 5 minutes. This ensures the sauce will be creamy instead of watery. After 5-10 minutes, give the pasta a quick stir. Serve and enjoy.
