Yes, they definitely had their lows, but I say I can certainly see why they would be best friends because of how yin and yang they are, and how I just enjoy watching them just goofing off and having fun doing whatever together. Whether they’re rapping and singing about whatever they’re getting into, or trying to beat a video game and get the ultimate high score on it, throwing pizza parties, or even just having a staring contest together! It’s pretty euphoric seeing them that way for me tbh. I also just love me a good bromance!
Another thing I wanted to bring up is the designs and how they’re drawn. Yes, the art style is simplistic, but I kinda like the way it is simplistic! Let me explain, I like how they are very simple shapes for the most part, but have certain details that make them more fun to look at, Mordecai has these certain bands of dark blue on his fingers, and patches of that same shade on his head, and white bands on his arms, blue jays have a pretty complex feather pattern structure, so it makes sense that every feather color detail isn’t going to be nailed down perfectly, but you can still clearly tell with the certain details added that he’s supposed to be a blue jay. It’s also kinda amusing how tall and skinny he is compared to how short Rigby is. Speaking of, I think Rigby looks super cute, and I certainly enjoy drawing him a lot as you can tell! His body is very rectangular with cute little shapes that makes up his ears, snout, limbs, and bushy tail! And his “mask” which he has referred to as dark circles around his eyes, like with Mordecai, isn’t completely exact to what an actual raccoon’s “mask” looks like, but you can still clearly tell what it’s supposed to be, (although some who aren’t as familiar with raccoons from what I heard thought he was supposed to be a squirrel) and it’s still looks really cute to me at least! Simplicity can work if you do it right! Just look at my style!
Thank you, JG Quintel and the many others who were a part of bringing this jolly good show to life! I’m probably gonna do more fan art, I just wanted to say that and get that out of me!
